Beautiful Ordinary Autumn Days

We're celebrating the ordinary and harvesting joy in these busy Autumn days with:

Candle light dinners every night: Pumpkin shrimp Bisque and Spinach Salad with Feta and Cranberries tonight

Cats cozy in their beds and blooming geraniums inside!

Claude helping with research, living up to his namesake (Claude V. Palisca, eminent musicologist).

More applesauce with friends

Just a few more pictures of another fun day of applesauce making with friends.
We had two little helpers this time: Rebekah and Laura.

Lovely Weekend Festivities

On Saturday Jenny and Jane canned applesauce together.  How much fun it was to do this together! We made a great team.

We love our new Victorio Strainer- this cut the time in half!

Cortland apples make such pink shades of sauce!

The boys did painting and worked on bikes- Meredith slept through the whole event!
Sunday we went home to celebrate Mom's birthday! Dad was a pirate for the event!

Delicious food and time together!

Where's your foot? 7 Oct 11

Good afternoon all,

I didn't make my post on Friday, but I did take the picture. In addition to all our other work, both us teach music lessons. Jenny teaches piano and I am currently only teaching organ. However one of my students came to me as a violinist so we started out on the piano rather than going straight to the organ, for a few very important reasons, not least of which is that it is better to get one's hands under control first before trying to use one's feet! So on Friday at about nine in the morning I was at the piano, practicing my repertoire for the upcoming concert (info, including address, on the right), and preparing for the arrival of my student.

But we've had some exciting news in our house, which will change my plan for these posts. I'll have to either find a different time or a different day to take my weekly picture. It won't be terribly interesting for me to post where I am on Friday mornings around nine any more, because I'll be in the same place every week at my NEW JOB!

Praise God from whom all blessings flow. We'll have some more about that later.

belated post - Where's your foot? 30 Sept 11

Well, I didn't do too well my first couple weeks keeping up with my Friday posts. Here's a picture from this past Friday:

And instead of my foot, you can just see the bald(ing) spot on the back of my head slightly to the left of the center of the picture. I was on the Men of Covenant retreat this weekend at Spruce Lake Retreat in Canadensis, PA. It was an excellent weekend of fellowship and study, and I was blessed to participate in many edifying discussions on diverse spiritual topics. I was also blessed to get to know some of my brothers in Christ from our church.
