Some days feel heavy and we long for things to be made right in a broken world. We miss those who have gone ahead and struggle with those whose walk is hard. So as the summer wanes and the vibrant green fades into yellow green, we harvest our garden, weed it and weed our hearts as well. Discouragement, weariness, forgetfulness are all weeds that pop up and we realize that we are like the Israelites so prone to wander and forget. So we mark a standing stone and call out Ebeneezer! Our God has been faithful. He will make all things right in His perfect time.
We have been busy outside, in water, hiking, swimming and walking with friends. It has been a blessing to spend time with these dear souls. Time is precious. Hold your loved ones close. Seek the Lord and He will fill your hearts with His goodness. Sometimes, when the days are hard and heavy, the digging for joy is painstaking work. But in trials and struggles, the joy is found in the fact that the Savior walks this road with us, carrying us as we go.
