Music, Nana and Rollarskates?

After all of the busy happenings, we had some more!  We had waffles with Nana last Thursday and took a walk in the March wind!  The girls love visiting her and hopefully we brought a few smiles to the residents.  Saturday we went to the Lenape Chamber Ensemble's Children's Concert-which highlighted Prokofiev. Emmie loved the violin and Lena was sad there were no drums. Sunday afternoon brought church rollerskating- an Emmie and Papa date while Lena took a much needed afternoon nap. This week we're starting some new traditions of read aloud morning tea (we're reading Little House in the Big Woods and Emily Dickinson's Poems), along with learning our colors, shapes and counting, practicing our letters and reading.

Busy Happenings and a Birthday

Last week was a blur. So much happened, our days were overflowing with both good things to rejoice in and just plain busy happenings.  We took a trip to Longwood Gardens, right before our Dupont Hospital check up for Lena's hip. It was a grey and stormy day and everyone was rather out of sorts and overwhelmed. A beautiful garden was just what we needed to slow our breathing and remember that God is walking with us. The girls love the children's garden there.  Lena's appointment went well - no surgery needed!! Praise God! The next day was Adam's birthday, so we celebrated with good friends and a steak dinner with rustic blueberry tart. Our good friend Marilyn, our doula from Emmie's birth, stopped in for a few snuggles.
