The Art of Being One

Baby girl is exploring what it means to be one.  She's doing so much watching, listening and exploring. She's having a verbal explosion and has learned that God made the creatures.  She points to the geese flying by and says "God".  She also points to airplanes and says "God". Its a big concept, so we'll keep learning.  She's discovered papa's trumpet, holding down notes on the piano, sunlight and cooking in her new kitchen. Its going to be a fun year. 

Celebrating Emmeline

Although damp and a bit chill, Emmeline's party day was a fun celebration with family and friends.  

We had lots of tasty food, fun times, thoughtful gifts and one tired baby afterwards. Here's to another wonderful year with our little Emmie B.  

And then....One.

Dear Emmeline,

       One year ago, on a day as sunny and beautiful as today, you came into the world after 3 long days of labor.  You were born at 7:20 am and we fell in love right away.  Since that day we have been blessed to watch you grow and share in the discoveries of your world.  At age one you are sweet and loving, full of energy and inquisitive in nature.  You are so smart and your vocabulary is growing by leaps and bounds. Your favorite words now are: Mama, baby, cat, Papa, ball, God, dog, night night, apple.  Your favorite food right now is celery.  You continue to love books, music, animals, sounds, and the outside.  You spend hours taking things out, putting them in, opening and shutting and singing while you work.  You can match pitch and copy simple melodies.  Right now your favorite instrument is a pot.  Recently you watch us so much more, you listen to our words and follow our actions.  It really makes us stop and think.  You are growing us too baby girl! Today was a special day as we went to the Camden Aquarium and watched you see fish up close. Tomorrow is your birthday party.  Happy Birthday dear little lady! May God always bless and keep you close in His care. We love you so much.

Celebrating

In our house we like to celebrate all week.  So Miss E's first birthday celebrations are already underway. She's been enjoying reading her cards

Summer or Autumn?

This last week has had us getting extra wear out of sundresses and taking wonderful family walks on the Perkiomen Trail.  But it has also had us scrambling for coats and hats.  Either way, somebody looks cute in both seasons.

This and That

We have officially entered the world of toddler here in Telford.  Little Emmie B has had 2 black eyes and a fat lip (from teeth going through) in 2 weeks time!  The little lady is trying to run and keep up with the cats and she's keeping us on our toes too.  But she's also becoming so contemplative, spending good half hours studying pictures of her family and friends.  She seems really perplexed about how they are small in the pictures.  We've finished our applesauce for the year and she was very excited to watch the sauce crank out from all the balls.  You make us laugh little girl!  In two weeks you will be one year old. How can that possibly be?
