Nine years ago Emmie B brought deep joy to our lives, after three days of labor. Happy Birthday to our darling Emmeline, our brave, beautiful, book girl who might also be called Anne with an E if she had a nickname. This year marks a new level of maturity to you, bringing with it a love for independent cooking in the kitchen, fabulous narration and memorization, a musicality beyond your years and a deeply tender and selfless heart. You are a second Mama, a chicken whisperer, a prayer warrior, an old soul and a patient sister. You are easy going and flexible but you hold a lot close to your heart. You love to write in journals, water color, make believe, dress up as historical characters, play out in your mud kitchen, play piano, cello and recorder and dance. You do not like meat. You are wildly allergic to poison ivy and you are a night owl. Perhaps the most beautiful thing this year is the discovery that you are a dear friend, as well as a daughter. What a precious gift. May you always love deeply, live fully, capture joy and give joy so easily. May God bless you always dear one.
