Twenty Three Months

 Dear Little One,
You are twenty three months. Next month you'll be a two year old. Be still my heart!! Lena Loo- you are something else these days! How we love you. You are so into pretend play right now. You love animals so much and you are quite a fine mother to your many many baby dolls. You wrap them and rock them and sing night night songs to them.  Lena Susan you are finally growing some hair! Its more blondish than brown and your eyes are grey green brown still. You are still 22 pounds but you're getting tall- not sure how tall you are. You love to read books and are starting to like coloring. You even color long patches of color instead of that first baby scribble. You love love love to sing. You know quite a few songs but you prefer arrangements of some you do yourself. You love Papa and run to him. He is your favorite bedtime person, though Oma is a close second. We're still waiting on the molars. Mama thought one had come in, but no. Not really. Boo on that! This week Mama has been recovering from surgery and its been a tough one sweet girl. But you and Emmie have adapted and kissed my boo boos and taken care of me so gently. Lena dear. You look mostly like your Papa most people say, but the bottom picture is me as a baby and maybe just maybe there's a bit of me in there too.

To remember

The last few weeks have been difficult as I have had to accept the fact that the electrical part of my heart is not functioning again and I'll have to undergo another ablation.  But in the middle of the fainting spells and lying on the floor I was struck by the tremendous joy our two littles bring. There are so many funny sayings they have and I want to always remember them. Here are just a few:

Lena:  I want a "Blanken"  (blanket)

Emmie:  I washed my under shoulders (under arms)

Lena: I weigh pee poun   (on the scale-I weigh 3 pounds)

Emmie: (after reading our evening Scripture): The Word of the Lord- Thanks to be God

Lena:  "Kank Du" - (thank you)

Lena: Who made a stink? I do! or Cat did.
