Sneak Peek

Here is a tiny sneak peak of Baby Girl's Room.
This dresser was Baby D's great-great grandmother's dresser.

The diaper changer is a hand-made gift as is the lovely quilt above. Notice the
vintage spotlights for diaper duty.  (They came with the house)

The bench was Baby's Momma's toy chest and the bookshelf
Baby's Grand-dad's as a boy.  This is the library corner.

This glider is a gift from Oma and Opa and the hutch behind used by J's Mom
(baby's GrandMom) as a baby and as a mother

Yeah for a plush new rug and creamy white walls painted by Grand-dad and A

The vintage dress is one of three from the Kraus side of the family- great-grandmother's baptismal dress?

Now all we need Baby Girl- is you! Grow Grow and see you soon.

Waiting...and some sneaky (but dear) friends

We've had an exciting week around here- one hospital trip, and lots of 'should we go conversations'? Thankfully labor seems to be held off with feet up and rest, but  Baby girl could come any time from here on out. Strong contractions are now a daily part of our life.   We can't wait to meet her, but hey sweet girl- listen to your Mama and stay put a few more weeks.
In the meantime, as the house shifts and prepares to welcome a baby, the cats
are getting worried.

In the meantime we canned some tomatoes (actually A did- I offered support from a chair)
We grew bigger
And then yesterday we were (completely) surprised by a shower for baby given by Adam's co-workers and
their kind families.  Look at the creativity here-  carrot cake in baby food jars (with baby spoons), a watermelon baby carriage....
Delicious food
Thoughtful and creative gifts for our girl!
I still don't know how Christine did this! For better pictures and the real scoop- you can
read more here: http://calltobelights.blogspot.com/
Here's our girl, grumpy about having another picture taken and mad at the pokes and prods
when she wanted to sleep.

32 Weeks

Dear 32 Weeks, here we come! How'd we get here already? I thought
we were just at 12 weeks and here baby girl is growing, growing!
Dear Baby, we pray for you every day and ask that God will bless and keep you
and that He will prepare us to be your parents.  Stay inside for a little while longer, ok?
Love,
Your Mama

This past Saturday we were blessed with another shower for our baby girl.
Family and friends came to celebrate with us and it was such a fun time.
Thanks to Bec, Aunt Cathy, Dad, Joan and Nana for all the hard work!
What a cute cake!

Delicious Eats!

Lots of wonderful ladies + Adam.

We had some fun games and beautiful tables.

We had many small friends attending too- born and not born!

The lady in charge- my sweet sister-in-law

It's that time again

It's mid-summer and so that means it's time for the great canning
extravaganza.  Since our garden is thriving this year we've put up
zucchini, yellow squash, tomato sauce, pickles and peaches.
Being 7 months pregnant makes the next few goals a bit impossible (applesauce,
pears, more tomatoes) but we'll see what transpires first- baby or more canning.
As it was last year- canning corresponds to thesis writing. This year Adam prepares his
thesis for differentation. As you can see- Maggie helps a lot by sitting on the books.

Dieffenbach Baby Shower

Adam's wonderful family showered baby (and us) with lots of love
last Sunday. It was so thoughtfully put together,
decorated beautifully and tasted amazing! Many thanks to Rachael, Reba, Mom, Dad, Aunt Carol
and any other behind the scenes people I didn't know about.
Note the "Mom to be" badge

What a fun banner on diapers, onesies and towels.

Loved the place settings and colors! The chocolate covered pretzels, mints and baby socks
with kisses inside saying 'its a girl' were so fun!

What a feast- these cupcakes were out of this world.  And the sandwiches and meatballs. Yum!!  What
a pretty edible flower arrangement too.

Lots of little helpers

Adorable and thoughtful gifts from Moms who know
what works

Daniel enjoying some punch!

Claire helped set up!

Who will she look like?

Just for fun here are some pictures of baby girl's parents as babies.  In a few months when
we have actual pictures of her I want to look back at these and compare God's marvelous work.
