It feels like we have been in a period of preparation the last month. Baby Boy has been attempting early arrival and so our days have been filled with a flurry of simultaneous resting and projects. As Papa builds more bookcases and book mountains grow throughout the house, we wash newborn clothes and rejoice in God's gift. Life is a hilarious mix of potty training, flying fiddle duets, science experiments, handicrafts, multiplication, Latin and German, piano lessons and learning (once again) to trust in the Lord for his timing of all things, especially the arrival of a tiny man. Here are a few pictures to remember the days of Mama on the couch counting contractions while watching ballet recitals, listening to This Country of Ours, a sweet baby shower, a certain three year old learning to write her name, a winter cake and many helpful friends who have encouraged us in this season. Throughout all of the Christmas season I have reflected often on Mary and the preparation for the Savior/Child and for our own preparation of His coming in the future. What a mystery and miracle! How blessed we are to know that each moment of our lives is in His perfect care. May we live with joy and faith!
